The CCCB Ildefons Cerdà Exhibition

This exhibition at the CCCB was the best exhibition I have seen ever. It was really inspirational when it comes down to showing how to graphically represent and analysis a site well. The exhibition is based on the city extension and its rational idea, the project by Ildefons Cerdà which basically is the master plan of modern Barcelona which is easily seen as the grid system in Google earth. This grid system has been implemented for over a 150-year period to produce a highly complex city but which is in theory easy to navigate around. The first image on the left is a scan of the book I bought from the exhibition which has every single diagram unfortunately half of it is in Spanish but the pictures really don’t need a description. I highly recommend buying this book if you are interested in Barcelona’s layout or if you just want some inspirational diagrams. I have so many photos of this exhibition but unfortunately I cant upload them all if you are interested go to the link below which tells you a little about the exhibition.
