Craftivism, Arnolfini

At the moment the Arnolfini gallery in Bristol is exhibiting food for free in Bristol which is part of the Craftivism exhibition. This is a small and simple exhibiting but is very interesting and quite inspiring. The exhibit talks about being able to get free food from what is already available in the city of Bristol. The images I have uploaded show a map of Brandon Hill, underneath Cabot Tower at the present, the hill is situated almost in Bristol’s centre. I took the rubbing of this map from a brass plate on the floor in the exhibition room. The map shows a clear plan of Brandon Hill and all the edible vegetation and fruits that can be found there, such as hazels, wild strawberries, pear and many others that I didn’t know grew there. It also marks out other trees and vegetation that don’t have edible fruits I guess so people can be careful when foraging.
