The Sagrada Familia started being constructed in 1882 by architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, in 1883 Gaudí was commissioned to carry on the works, a task which he did not abandon until his death in 1926. Since then different architects have continued the work after his original idea. I really wanted to visit the Sagrada Familia as it is such an iconic building and can almost been seen from the whole of Barcelona, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed as it just didn’t feel as grand as it was made out to be in TV programmes and images of it. I didn’t go inside admittedly which could have changed my mind a bought it but the reason why I didn’t go inside was because it was so expensive for the admission and as it was one of the last days in Barcelona I didn’t have to much money to spare. Don’t be put of though by me it is defiantly a must see and I am glad I have seen it.
